A pioneering innovation to help flood control.
For years there has been no real alternative to sandbags. Floodbloxs is a revolutionary product compared to the traditional sandbag used for flood defence. Comprising a heavy duty Jute sack and a cotton liner containing a super absorbent environmentally neutral polymer “sodium polyacylate”. Sodium polyacylate was originaly created for hygiene products and to stop water ingress to undersea cables. With this novel flood protection application, Floodbloxs can be stored easily and is at the ready when you need it - without the hassle of filling or discovering degraded sandbags.
When a Floodbloxs is placed in water, after only approximately 3 minutes the polymer will have absorbed water creating an inflated "sandbag" or more accurately a gel bag which can be used in a similar way to a sandbag to help deflect and block floodwater from entering our homes. Floodbloxs has been successfully been used by several councils in England and Wales to protect council properties and be distributed to members of the public to protect their households from unexpected flooding. Floodbloxs can be deployed very quickly with minimum storage space required. They are ideal for use by people who would not be able to lift and deploy heavy sandbags.
